China, 15th century. A group of mercenaries has come all the way from Europe to learn the secret of black powder. During the campaign 20 men become a target of hostile Kidani people. In order to escape the local gang, the mercenaries hide in a cave where another vicious enemy, an unknown monster creature, attacks them. Only two adventurers survive - William (Matt Damon) and Tovar (Pedro Pascal). They move further on and reach the Great Wall where the Nameless order (secret military organizations) takes them as prisoners. While in captivity, Will and Tovar meet a British called Ballard. Ballard came to China 25 years ago with the same purpose. He reveals that building of the Great Wall requires the labor of thousands, but what’s more important is not the construction, but its defense. Every 60 years the wall becomes a battlefield between the Imperial army and a horde of alien monsters.

Fantasy-thriller ‘The Great Wall’ explores the mysteries of the largest construction ever built in the world. The filming started in 2014 and was initially planned to in the US only. Later on, Zhang Yimou was announced the director and the entire shooting stage moved to China. “The Great Wall” has become the most expensive English-language film ever made in People’s Republic of China (budget - $135 mln).


Rings

Genre: supernatural psychological thriller!

The main characters have only 24 hours left to escape the revenge of the walking dead teenage girl.

‘Rings’ is the third part in the American adaptation of famous Japanese horror. The new film continues the events started in ‘Ring’ (2002) and ‘Ring 2’ (2005). In August 2014, Paramount Pictures first announced the filming of ‘Ring 3D’, but later, in November, the director Xavier Gutierrez posted a photo on his Instagram revealing the final title ‘Rings’. The shooting took place in Atlanta in March-June, 2015.

The rumor went on that originally producers set to develop a prequel which would explain Samara’s need for violence and murder. Thus, the events would take place 30 years before the series of mysterious deaths. The main character would be a then-alive Samara Morgan.


xXx: Return of Xander Cage

It’s been 8 years since a former operative Xander Cage disappeared after an undercover mission in Prague. Everybody considers him dead but it turns out that Cage faked his death and escaped to the Dominican Republic. CIA agent Marke tracks him down and convinces the former agent to retrieve a secret weapon called ‘Pandora box’. The owner of this device can hack into satellite control systems and drop them down as warheads in any location.

‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’ (a.k.a. Reactivated) is the third film in the franchise about devildare stuntman. The shooting started in 2015 in the Philippines. The male lead performer, Vin Diesel, revealed that he’d been waiting for the return of Xander Cage since 2006 and that the new movie will be full of incredible stunts and heavy metal music — just in the spirit of the original part.

Diesel also announced that UFC champion Conor Mcgregor would enter the cast, but in April 2016, the fighter dropped out of the filming to focus on training and upcoming UFC competition. Later, in June 2016, it was revealed that another world-famous sportsman, football star Neymar Jr. joined the cast.

Fifty Shades Darker

Anastasia ‘Ana’ Steele (Dakota Johnson) is going through hard times after breakup with her boyfriend Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). The couple moves in together but the joy of the newly-regained passion slips away after another player, Leila Williams (Bella Heathcote), enters their game. Ana and Leila are as like as two peas, however, the latter has no warm feelings, but disgust towards Anastasia. In addition, Leila suffers from recurring mental disorders.

‘Fifty shades darker’ continues the story of original movie ‘Fifty shades of Grey’. Both parts are based on the eponymous novel by E. L. James. The making of ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ went on in Vancouver through February-April, 2015. The film crew is currently working on the sequel and the last part in Fifty Shades trilogy - ‘Fifty Shades Freed’. The premiere is scheduled on February 9, 2018.
